Booking shoots

I finally got around to redesigning my website - nikkivicious.com - to make it cleaner and add in my gogo/entertainer information.
I'm back to booking shoots for the upcoming months. I will consider trade/TFP shoots, depending on the project. I also have very reasonable rates for shoots that I cannot accept on a trade basis.
I am also available for promotional events, club events, car/bike shows, and other appearances.
For gogo events, I have a FutureHoop from moodhoops.com. I will be posting videos of me from events as I get them. I also can gogo without the hoop, shadowbox/cage gogo, and dance without LEDs.
Also, since I've had a lot of requests for them, I am willing to make fan signs/videos. If you're wanting something that requires a lot of time to get the shot/video, tipping is nice

Maybe I'm missing something here...

For the whole time I've been modeling, there's been a flow to the shoot, and the events leading up to it.
Now, normally, either I had an idea, and took it a photographer, or a photographer would contact me with a shoot idea. We would then go from there
Lately, I've had some very unprofessional "photographers" contact me, wanting to shoot trades. I'm more than happy to shoot trade content, but the point of trades are for the shoot to be mutually beneficial to both parties. I'm sorry, but I'm just not going to spend 6+ hours of prep time so you can shoot me naked, and I'm not getting anything out of it.
One guy is local, and I'd be willing to shoot with him... But... He wants me to not only model, but I'm acting as a model/muah. For trade. I'm supposed to haul an additional two makeup cases so I can do two more models who are shooting with me.
So, essentially, he's asking me to waive my kit fee $45.00 a model ( I was going to drop it to $25.00 because of the extra models)... He's asking me to waive my rates (again, very reasonable... $25/hr)... He's asking me to bring extra wardrobe on top of my own, in case the other models need it... And now he's asking me to come up with the whole shoot theme. Like, I'm coming up with everything, his job is to sit there and take the pics, then he owns full copyright for all of my hard work, to do whatever he wants with. I, personally, don't see the point in trying to put all that work in for him... My husband is a photographer and I have a shitton of photographers that are truly trading their time and energy in a pretty even way.
I had a photographer contact me and claim that he could get me into playboy, or maxim, or tons of other obviously bullshit ways to get me naked on Skype for free. No real "agents" ask for skype auditions.
I've lost count of how many times I've been blacklisted for standing up for myself.

I still have no idea what he keeps talking about with the "prostitute ad," because I never post Craigslist ads. I wouldn't respond to an ad for sugarbabies either, so dude is just absolutely insane. I feel bad for the people at Fox Sports that have to work with him... I can't imagine him getting away with doing this at work, but he feels its ok to do it outside of work? Yeah... *THIS* is why I have rules about who I will shoot with. Protip - don't be a pervy douche to models, because it *will* bite you in the ass. I've now made it my goal to find out who this jerkwad is, and letting ALL models know.
This is the original ad on Craigslist. Most of the time, the foot fetish/pantyhose fetish guys are actually pretty cool, and they're, at the very least, normally respectful...

I'll be quite honest with you... I'm not good at playing the "adult" games... I just don't call people and act anything other than professional.
I'm really easy to work with, and I've worked with every photographer that I've shot with multiple times... I don't mind shooting nude, and honestly, it wouldn't matter what you were wearing or not wearing... But I just can't call someone and play a part like that, where I'm essentially having to turn you on to get a shoot.
I completely understand if that means we won't be working together, but I'd rather be honest than be considered a fake.
(I'd rather be straight up with someone and not shoot than put myself in a position that my safety will be compromised, or I will be uncomfortable)

(Last time I checked, I shot for FUN, not for a career. I work in IT. I'm a systems engineer/systems administrator. I'm also happily married. I'm missing the whole "land gigs and pay rent" portion of my life, I guess...)

Ok photographers, here's the deal. I fully respect that photography is expensive. I completely understand... My husband is a photographer. I'm definitely not opposed to shooting trade shoots, but if I tell you that I can't accept a trade shoot, please do not insult me, because its not me insulting you.
There are lots of reasons I won't accept trade shoots, the majority have NOTHING to do with your portfolio. It may be that you are simply too far away. If I have to drive for three hours just to get to you, we shoot for two hours, and then I have to drive three hours back home, I don't see that as being very beneficial to me if I'm actually spending like $100 just in gas to get to you. Now, if you're, say Lithium Picnic... Or Alvarado... Yeah. I'd drive across the country for a chance to shoot with them... Because they are consistently bad ass and two of my favorite photographers ever.
If you're wanting a trade shoot, and asking me to go out and spend a bunch of money on some outfit that I'm never going to wear again... No. I'm not trying to be mean, but I'm not going to spend hundreds of dollars on something I'll never use again just for your shoot.
If you're expecting me to sleep with you as part of the trade, not happening, and don't even ask me to sign a model release. I will walk out, I will blast you everywhere, and I will not think twice about it. Know why? Because I've worked with a lot of people in this industry all over DFW, and in other locations, and they know how I act. I don't trash people without a reason, and yes, I have had a photographer attempt this before. That photographer is now serving time for drugging and raping another model, and I was more than happy to give my statement to the police. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
If you come at me with a horrible attitude, like I should be honored that you contacted me, it will not get you far at all. Normally, I won't even respond to the message. Being nice means that I'll be nice.
Sometimes, I will turn down trade shoots if its something that just doesn't fit with my portfolio. I'm still more than happy to shoot with you on that project, and I have very reasonable rates, and you don't even have to book a makeup artist. It's really nothing personal, it really just is that I already have a lot of that specific idea in my portfolio, and I'm not looking to add more.
Brand new photographer, and don't really have much of a port yet? I am more than happy to work with you, and I do have discounted rates for brand new photogs, and I'm willing to work something out with you so that you can build on your portfolio.
Finally, if you ask me to shoot nude, that will not be a trade shoot. I do not book trade nude shoots at this time. I do not have a problem shooting nude, but I have had a problem with several people wasting my time by saying they want to book nude shoots, and then ask me to send sample photos... And then they disappear. Sorry, but if you're truly interested in shooting nudes, I am available to be booked, and a deposit will be secured before any nude samples or my portfolio is sent. I feel that I have a pretty good example of what I look like already displayed.
Oh, and if we're shooting, and you did not book me for implied/semi/full nude, do not try to talk me into it. I'm upfront with you, I expect the same respect.

Because I've worked with a lot of people in this industry all over DFW, and in other locations, and they know how I act. I don't trash people without a reason, and yes, I have had a photographer attempt this before. That photographer is now serving time for drugging and raping another model, and I was more than happy to give my statement to the police. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
If you come at me with a horrible attitude, like I should be honored that you contacted me, it will not get you far at all. Normally, I won't even respond to the message. Being nice means that I'll be nice.
Sometimes, I will turn down trade shoots if its something that just doesn't fit with my portfolio. I'm still more than happy to shoot with you on that project, and I have very reasonable rates, and you don't even have to book a makeup artist. It's really nothing personal, it really just is that I already have a lot of that specific idea in my portfolio, and I'm not looking to add more.
Brand new photographer, and don't really have much of a port yet? I am more than happy to work with you, and I do have discounted rates for brand new photogs, and I'm willing to work something out with you so that you can build on your portfolio.
Finally, if you ask me to shoot nude, that will not be a trade shoot. I do not book trade nude shoots at this time. I do not have a problem shooting nude, but I have had a problem with several people wasting my time by saying they want to book nude shoots, and then ask me to send sample photos... And then they disappear. Sorry, but if you're truly interested in shooting nudes, I am available to be booked, and a deposit will be secured before any nude samples or my portfolio is sent. I feel that I have a pretty good example of what I look like already displayed.
Oh, and if we're shooting, and you did not book me for implied/semi/full nude, do not try to talk me into it. I'm upfront with you, I expect the same respect.
